Our mission is to coordinate and facilitate all activities related to the Queen Anne Boys Lacrosse Club, and to honor the game by instilling the values of scholastic achievement, sportsmanship, teamwork, and individual development.
Queen Anne Boys Lacrosse Club is comprised of the following teams, each limited to 20-22 players:
3rd/4th Grade (2 teams for the 2019 Season)
5th/6th Grade (2 teams for the 2019 Season)
7th/8th Grade (2 teams for the 2019 Season)
Practices are typically two evenings during the week for all teams, usually Tuesday and Thursday. Our home practice field is Queen Anne Bowl. We also make use of Interbay Stadium and other local fields when available.
Each player is expected to have their own gear, including a helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, athletic protector cup, and a lacrosse stick. The club may have gear to loan - depending upon availability.
Games are on Saturdays. Our home game field is Queen Anne Bowl. Practices start in Early-February, games begin around the first week of March. There are ten games total, scheduled through the third Saturday in May, with a break during the typical school Spring Break.
The 3/4 and 5/6 leagues are generally oriented towards the development of skills and knowledge of the game. No records or standings are kept for games. Everyone plays all positions. The 7/8 league is more competitive, but the emphasis is still towards development of both individual and team skills.
Prior lacrosse experience is not necessary for any level.
Because of the limited space available on our teams, and the large number of players who are turned away every season, players are expected to make a reasonably full commitment to attending all practices and games. Players who do not have the ability to make this level of commitment will be asked to forfeit their roster space for use by another player willing to make the commitment to the program.
Information is posted on our links page for clubs in other neighborhoods and for the girls lacrosse teams based on Queen Anne.
REGISTRATION AND TEAM FORMATION GUIDELINES
There is tremendous interest in Youth Lacrosse in the Seattle Area. We would love to include every single interested player, but we unfortunately cannot expand our program beyond the number of players and teams we currently have. This is primarily due to the limited availability of practice and game fields. While our philosophy is to serve players within or near the Queen Anne Community, we are also committed to being proactive in assisting individuals in other areas of the City of Seattle to develop similar programs.
Returning players will be given first preference in the registration process, provided they are registered prior to November 15, 2018.
At the 3-4 level, we give an initial preference to 3rd and 4th grade players. Players who are in 2nd grade will be placed on a wait-list. (League rules mandate that players be 7-years-old by March 1 - or thereabout. We will accommodate 2nd grade players if we have room.)
Depending upon space available, registration will be open for new players, with the following structure:
Registration will be first come – first served.
Preference will be made for new players from the Queen Anne community.
All teams will be compiled by the Queen Anne Boys Lacrosse Club in its sole and absolute discretion.
* A US Lacrosse membership number will be required to complete registration. Memberships are available at www.uslacrosse.org. Registrations will not be considered complete without confirmation of membership - NO exceptions.
